Providing Psychotherapy & Counseling Services in Burlingame, San Mateo, Millbrae, Hillsborough & the Peninsula
Hello and WELCOME! I’m Dr. Kathy Allard, and I appreciate you taking a moment to visit my website as you gather information about my private psychotherapy practice, located in Burlingame, California.
I also offer psychotherapy services to the surrounding communities, including those who reside within the cities of San Mateo, San Bruno, Millbrae, Hillsborough, Belmont and Redwood City.
Since you are now here, it’s likely that you found me through a social media site, or someone has perhaps mentioned my name to you, and you are here wishing to learn more about me so that you can decide if I can help you with whatever may be causing you to search for help at this time.
No doubt, that because you are searching for assistance, you have exhausted your own resources to look for a solution. You know yourself well, and whatever is going on is keeping you from enjoying your life to the fullest. Therapy can help you gain a different perspective and understanding. It has the potential of giving rise to a new you--one that you like better.
My job as a Psychologist involves collaboratively working with you to help you gain a sense of control over what is holding you back from your potential to be fully present and involved in your life. This might be related to issues you’re experiencing in your relationships, at work--perhaps you are feeling depressed or anxious and don’t quite know why. However you are suffering, therapy often can provide a unique experience, one which you are heard, can learn about yourself in new ways, and rise to your best self. Therapy can seek to unblock your creativity, shine light into your dark areas, put more tools in your toolbox, and tackle all the problems blocking your creative growth.
With over 20 years of practicing, I provide an atmosphere of safety and respect that is devoid of judgment. I am licensed both as a Psychologist, and Marriage and Family Therapist—both in the State of California. I offer the unique combined perspective of both these disciplines, which has offered me to work to the depth that many need to better understand themselves, and their relationships. My job is to understand your specific therapeutic goals, and to support and help you in getting there. I take my responsibilities as a Psychologist seriously—my intention is to provide you with integrity, authenticity and respect while you explore yourself in a new way.
I genuinely enjoy my job, and gain a deep satisfaction in observing people change over time. Being native to the Bay Area has also helped me to better understand the many kinds of stressors and challenges that many people face living in the Bay Area. Feel free to contact me, ask any questions you might have, or to schedule a first appointment—my number is 650 697-1717, or by e-mail at psy@drkathyallard.com.
